From time to time the City of Sandy Springs and the Recreation and Parks Department require additional staff to provide and conduct leisure and athletic programs.

Part-time Position Descriptions
Knowledge required of current gymnastics skills, teaching and spotting techniques, USA Gymnastics routines. Must have the ability to effectively teach/ coach groups and/or individuals age 3-17 in support of the City’s preschool, recreational and team gymnastics programs. USA Gymnastics Professional membership and USA Gymnastics Safety Certification required and must be certified in CPR and First Aid.
Minimum age of 18 required.
Youth and Adult Special Interest Instructor
Do you have a special certification or talent that you would like to share? The Recreation and Parks Department is always interested in reviewing proposals for carefully planned classes. Prospective instructors should complete the City application, plus a Program Proposal form. Previous teaching experience is desirable.
Minimum age of 21 required.
Seasonal Position Descriptions
Part-time swim instructor position open for new swim lesson program. The position involves teaching an Intro to Water Skills class for non-swimming children and a Stroke Development class for children that can swim using a combination of arms/legs for 15 feet. The qualified individual must be a minimum of 17 years old and be currently certified in swim instruction and/or life guarding.
All positions may require a High School diploma or G.E.D. and some positions, when applicable, require applicants to meet a minimum age requirement, possess a valid driving license (with the proper endorsement) and/or possess specialized training, including but not limited to a current CPR and First Aid certification by time of employment.
All positions require a clear criminal background check, negative drug screen, and a clean driving record.
Successful candidate must present required evidence of appropriate experience and background/ references and be able to demonstrate required ability/skill.
Part-time schedules are limited to a maximum of 29 hours per week. These positions may require work on some holidays, nights and weekends. Part-time positions with the City of Sandy Springs are not eligible for any employment benefits.
Seasonal positions are temporary in nature and seasonal employment does not infer or imply any permanent status or employment relationship with the City of Sandy Springs. Seasonal workers are not eligible for any employment benefits. These positions may require work on some holidays, nights and weekends.
