Sandy Springs offers more than 20 miles of beautiful shoreline along the Chattahoochee River, perfect for all types of outdoor recreation activities.

The Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area is spread over a 48-mile section of the Chattahoochee River, consisting of the river and 15 land units that begin just downstream of Buford Dam at Lake Lanier and ends at Peachtree Creek in metro Atlanta.  The CRNRA contains 75 miles of trails for biking, hiking, running and walking.

Three National Park Sites within Sandy Springs provide opportunities for picnicking, fishing, hiking and wildlife viewing all year-round. Rent a raft, kayak or canoe from one of the local outfitters to experience an unforgettable summer day floating down the cool waters.
