AUDUBON BIRD WALKS

Ages 6 & up – Join Atlanta Audubon Society for family-friendly guided bird walks along the trail at Overlook Park and Lost Corner Preserve.  Binoculars will be available to borrow. Children 16 and under must be accompanied by adult.

Morgan Falls Overlook Park- Winter Bird Walk 
Saturday, March 4, 2017, 8:30 - 10:30 a.m. 
The winter months will offer opportunities to see open water duck species and eagle which can be sighted easily at this time.

The spring walk will offer opportunities to look for spring migrants and arrival of summer nesting species. 

Lost Corner Preserve - Spring Bird Walk

This walk along the trail at Lost Corner Preserve will offer an opportunities to see migrant and resident species.

Ages 6 & up – Join local bird enthusiast to learn more about how you can attract birds to your backyard! Children 16 and under must be accompanied by adult.

AGES 6+ – Bluebirds are one of Georgia’s most charming backyard birds, and a wonderful example of a population comeback fueled by everyday people.  Come learn the story of bluebirds, and how to attract them to your yard.  Check out examples of the best houses, feeders, and food for your yard, and then go outside and enjoy Lost Corner Preserve’s resident bluebird family.  Bluebird houses will be available for sale.

HOW TO MAXIMIZE YOUR BIRD FEEDERS
AGES 6+ – Create a birdwatcher’s paradise.  Attract the biggest variety and largest number of birds to your yard.  Learn to avoid cheap fillers as you check out examples of different types of seed and blends, then go beyond birdseed with examples of feeders for attracting insect, nectar and fruit eating birds.  Learn how to keep unwanted guests out of your feeders, and how to landscape your yard with birds in mind.  We will conclude with a short bird walk around the grounds.
