Annual Audit and Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR)


In cooperation with the City Auditor, the Annual Audit (CAFR) is prepared and submitted to The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for consideration of a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. To achieve that certification, a government must publish an easily readable and efficiently organized comprehensive annual financial report with contents conforming to program standards. These reports must also satisfy both generally accepted account principles and applicable legal requirements.
