Car Seat Inspections
Did You Know?
- Four out of five child car seats are installed incorrectly.
- One-third of children are riding in restraints that are not appropriate for their age and size.
The Sandy Springs Fire Department offers child car seat inspections to help keep children safe while traveling.
Inspections are available on the first and third Wednesdays of each month from 9 a.m. to noon at Sandy Springs Fire Station No. 2, located at 135 Johnson Ferry Road, or by appointment.
Important Safety Reminders
- Be a good role model by always wearing your seat belt. Children are more likely to develop safe habits when they see adults buckling up consistently.
- Always read and follow the manufacturer’s instructions for your child safety seat and your vehicle owner’s manual.
- If you no longer have the manufacturer’s instructions, contact the manufacturer’s customer service department with the model number, seat name, and date of manufacture listed on the seat label.
- Complete and submit the warranty registration card for your child safety seat so you can be notified about recalls or safety issues.
