The City of Sandy Springs and the Perimeter Community Improvement District (PCID) will be hosting a public open house regarding the Peachtree Dunwoody Road Multi-Use Trail. The meeting will give the community the opportunity to provide input on the proposed path.
WHEN: Thursday, August 15. 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.
WHERE: 1100 Abernathy Road, 500 Northpark, Peachtree Dunwoody Conference Room
BACKGROUND:
The project aims to enhance bicycle and pedestrian safety and access on the west side of Peachtree Dunwoody Road, spanning from Hammond Drive to Mt. Vernon Highway. It will establish a twelve (12) foot wide bicycle and pedestrian side path with a six (6) foot wide landscape buffer. This initiative includes design, right-of-way acquisition, utility coordination, and construction phases.
The trail will increase access and connectivity to local MARTA stations and integrate with the Peachtree Dunwoody Lake Hearn Connectivity Project, Path 400, and the Mt. Vernon Highway Corridor Improvements.
Funding is being provided by the City of Sandy Springs and the Perimeter Community Improvement District. The City’s funding is included within the Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (T-SPLOST) program approved by voters in Sandy Springs and Fulton County as part of the T-SPLOST referendum.
