The City of Sandy Springs is excited to unveil its newest signature event: OktoberFEAST. This family-friendly celebration will be held October 19 and 20 at City Springs, featuring a vibrant array of fall festivities. From 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. each day, guests can immerse themselves in authentic Bavarian culture with live music by the Swinging Bavarians and Auf Geht’s, a selection of German beers, delicious Bavarian cuisine, and even polka lessons. Best of all, admission is free.
“With our incredible lineup of signature events, Sandy Springs has firmly established itself as a hub for entertainment and culture,” said Mayor Rusty Paul. “OktoberFEAST will enhance our vibrant event calendar, offering residents and visitors the chance to celebrate autumn with local crafts, seasonal foods, and lively entertainment.”
At the inaugural OktoberFEAST, food will take center stage with a menu brimming with harvest favorites and Bavarian specialties, including pretzels, German sausages, potato pancakes, and apple strudel with caramel sauce. For those 21 and older, a curated selection of specialty beers will be on offer, including Hefe Weissbier from the world’s oldest brewery, Weihenstephaner. Additional offerings include Festbier from Tucher Brewery and Benediktiner, and Oktoberfest Lagers from Goat Island Brewery and The Brooklyn Brewery to complement the German beer offerings and bring the festive spirit to every sip.
The Swinging Bavarians, donning traditional Lederhosen and Dirndls, will captivate guests with authentic German music and lively polkas, offering a diverse selection of tunes to entertain all ages. The six-piece Auf Geht’s group will also perform, showcasing German music with traditional Oktoberfest as well as popular tunes. Attendees inspired by the music will have the opportunity to participate in polka lessons.
