SANDY SPRINGS (June 24, 2024) – The City of Sandy Springs proudly announces that Newell Brands has signed a 180,000-square-foot lease at the iconic Queen Tower at Concourse Office Park for its new global headquarters. Newell Brands, a leading consumer goods company with a portfolio of well-known brands, including Rubbermaid®, Sharpie® and Graco®, is one of five Fortune 500 companies that call Sandy Springs home, the most in Atlanta’s Perimeter market.
“We are thrilled that Newell has decided to keep its headquarters in Sandy Springs,” said Mayor Rusty Paul. “We have several programs designed to encourage the retention and expansion of existing businesses, and the incentives we have put in place to foster a pro-business community are clearly working. We are excited that Newell decided to stay home and look forward to the positive impact of retaining 890 jobs and adding 165 new jobs to Sandy Springs’ economy.”
The City of Sandy Springs offers an Economic Incentive Program to attract new business to the City and encourage the growth of existing businesses. Benefits of this program can include an expedited permitting process, a waiver of permit fees and a waiver of business and occupational taxes. In March 2024, the Mayor and City Council approved the request from Newell Brands for an Economic Incentive to waive building permit fees and business occupational taxes for three years. The estimated value of the fees waived totals $281,883.40.
The relocation, brokered by Cushman & Wakefield, will result in a headquarters space that is 20 percent larger than Newell’s current offices at 6655 Peachtree Dunwoody Road. It will allow the company to consolidate all Atlanta-based employees into a single space that fosters performance, innovation and inclusion.
“We are pleased to call Sandy Springs home to our global headquarters and to continue our strong partnership with the City,” said a Newell Brands spokesperson. “We look forward to bringing our Atlanta-based employees together in a single space that will foster performance, innovation and inclusion.”
Ideally situated in Atlanta’s Central Perimeter, Sandy Springs is home to many Fortune 500 and 1000 companies. Among the largest corporate employers are United Parcel Service (UPS), WestRock, Veritiv Corp., Newell Brands Inc., Intercontinental Exchange/NYSE, ServiceMaster, Graphic Packaging, Cox Communications, Inspire Brands, Focus Brands, and Mercedes Benz USA.
