Located at the intersection of Roswell Road, Johnson Ferry Road, and Mt. Vernon Highway, Veterans Park was inaugurated by the City on Veterans Day in 2023. To further honor the sacrifices of our veterans, the City commissioned two stunning sculptures for the park. Once installed, these collaborative sculptures will serve as powerful symbols of gratitude for veterans living and working in Sandy Springs as well as the surrounding community, offering inspiration for future generations. The two sculptures are currently in fabrication and scheduled to be dedicated on November 11, 2024, during the City's annual Veterans Day Event.

“Be the Light” is a 33-foot internally lit sculpture designed to emulate a flame, symbolizing eternal light. Anchored in three places, visitors can walk under and through the sculpture – a first of this type of tribute to have an immersive experience. The seven spires representing the seven military branches reflect Pittman’s vision of creating both an inspirational and aspirational tribute to those who serve. “Be the Light” is inspired by the artist’s dear friend and combat veteran, Jarrod Flood.
The true battle begins when the bullets stop flying.
Choices for where life or death flow, love and fear grow.
A place where light and darkness know your name.
A torch to your soul forever burning its flame.

Atlanta artist Kevin Chambers’ “Three Generations” is a bronze statue depicting a multi-generational family honoring a loved one who made the ultimate sacrifice. The humanity captured in their expressions, filled with hope and reverence, creates a profoundly moving tribute. The sculpture faces “Be the Light,” drawing the two sculptures together to an emotional focal point.
