Allen Road and Lake Forrest Drive Intersection Improvements

Status: Design contract approved by City Council on December 5, 2023.

Background: Due to traffic and safety concerns, the City of Sandy Springs is proposing a mini-roundabout at the intersection of Allen Road and Lake Forrest Drive. The intersection improvements include operational and safety enhancements to alleviate the existing bottleneck condition on Lake Forrest Drive. Sidewalks and pedestrian access improvements are also planned as part of this concept.

Public Information Open House: A public information open house was held on Thursday, September 21 at Sandy Springs City Hall, with a presentation detailing the traffic study and the proposed safety improvements.

Those who were unable to attend the public information open house had an opportunity to provide feedback during the public comment period, which closed on Wednesday, October 5, 2023.
