Business Retention and Recruitment
The City of Sandy Springs offers an Economic Incentive Program designed to attract new businesses and support the growth of existing businesses.
Available incentives may include:
- Expedited permitting
- Permit fee waivers
- Business and occupational tax waivers
The program is available to businesses that:
- Create 15 or more full-time jobs
- Offer wages that meet or exceed the City average
- Make a capital investment of at least $1 million in a new or renovated building
The program includes three incentive tiers.
Small Business Incentives
Redevelopment Areas
This incentive program supports small businesses that are expanding or locating within Sandy Springs Priority Redevelopment Areas.
In these areas, the minimum requirements are reduced. Eligible businesses must:
- Create at least five full-time jobs
- Make a capital investment of at least $250,000
Incentives available through this program are similar to those offered for larger projects but are limited to designated redevelopment areas identified in the Comprehensive Plan .

Small Business Incentive Tiers
Workforce Housing
This program may provide reductions in impact fees for qualifying housing developments.
Eligibility requirements include:
- At least 150 new or replacement housing units
- At least 20% of units designated for households earning no more than 120% of Sandy Springs median household income
Additional exemptions may apply to housing projects that:
- Replace at least 150 rental housing units
- Convert at least 75% of units to homeownership opportunities
